Instructions

Play & adjust volume

Choose a brainwave and click Preview to listen. Add it to your mix to combine it with other brainwaves. Use the play button and volume slider in each mix row to listen and adjust its volume. Pause all stops the mix without removing any tracks.

Customize frequencies

Adjust the base frequency aka the high and low of the base tone. Adjust the binaural beats frequency aka the one taking effect. Use the number fields or the minus and plus buttons to fine-tune the selected brainwave. Binaural frequencies move in 0.1 Hz steps, and the base frequency ranges from 20 to 1,000 Hz. Reset to default restores that brainwave’s original frequencies.

Export a WAV file

With at least one brainwave added to your mix, select the length under “Track length” and click “Export locally” to get your free binaural beats download. All brainwaves in your mix are included at their current volume, even when paused. Previewing a brainwave does not add it to the export.

The export will run as long as the dialog stays open. Once finished, the file is on your device. In Chrome on desktop, a dialog will show up on where to save the file on your computer and how to name it. The audio will be exported to your download folder on all other browsers or devices.

File won't open on mobile

Some mobile browsers ignore the file name and extension, so the file may be saved as “download” or without “.wav”. If it won't open, rename it so it ends in .wav, for example zenmix-binaural-export.wav.

Delta 1-4 Hz Sleep.
Theta 4-8 Hz Deep relaxation. Zone between being wake or sleeping.
Alpha 8-13/14* Hz Relaxation
Beta 13/14*-38 Hz Mental, intellectual activity, outwardly focused concentration, alertness.
Gamma 39 – 42 Hz Focus, perception and consciousness.

* Alpha/Beta boundary: We use 8-14 Hz for Alpha and start Beta at 14 Hz, treating 14 Hz as a boundary value. The 13/14 Hz transition is an edge case; some sources start Beta at 13 Hz instead.
