Lesson 4 - Music Licensing for Guided Meditations

Before you publish, sell or share a meditation with music, make sure you have the right license.

“Royalty-free” does not mean “free to use however you want.” Every provider sets its own rules, and some licenses can become restrictive as your work grows.

Quick Licensing Checklist

Before using a track, check:

• Is commercial use allowed?
• Can you use it in a guided meditation?
• Can you edit, trim, fade or loop it?
• Can you sell or distribute the finished meditation?
• Is use on YouTube, meditation apps or other platforms allowed?
• Is client work covered?
• Is attribution required?
• Are there any Content ID restrictions?
• If the music comes from a subscription, can you keep using your finished meditation after you cancel?

A License With Room to Grow

ZENmix licenses are designed to be unusually generous and flexible.

The idea is simple: you should be able to buy music for the meditation you are creating today without discovering later that you need a different license because you also want to use it in a course, with clients, on a platform, in an app, or in another part of your business.

There are still limits, so always check the terms for your particular use. But the license is intentionally broad enough to cover many uses you may not even be planning yet.
